Daelim Oil Co., Ltd., an affiliate of Daelim Enterprise and a leading manufacturer of automotive chemical solutions, has successfully obtained the Korean Industrial Standards (KS) certification (No. 25-0264) for its automotive brake fluid products.
The certification was granted under the KS M 2141 standard (Brake fluids for road vehicles – non-petroleum-based type), which requires compliance with rigorous national criteria including safety, heat resistance, viscosity characteristics, and overall product stability.
The certified products include two variants:
Protec Premium Brake Fluid DOT-4+ and Protec Premium Brake Fluid DOT-4+ LV.
Both formulations were developed to deliver stable braking performance under extreme temperature conditions. In particular, Protec Premium Brake Fluid DOT-4+ LV, a low-viscosity formulation, is optimized for modern vehicles equipped with advanced electronic braking systems such as ABS and ESP. Its low-viscosity properties enable faster brake response and a smoother, more controlled pedal feel.
Brake fluid is a critical component directly linked to vehicle safety.
To achieve KS certification, products must undergo comprehensive performance evaluations and on-site factory audits. Assessments cover boiling point, viscosity, corrosion resistance, and heat resistance, as well as the capability of manufacturing and testing facilities and the robustness of the company’s quality management systems.
Daelim Oil stated that the company will continue strengthening its product quality capabilities across its automotive chemical portfolio, beginning with this KS-certified brake fluid line.
The R&D Center of Daelim Enterprise, together with the technical research division of Daelim Oil, is conducting ongoing research focused on product quality enhancement and the development of environmentally responsible technologies. Their work spans multiple categories, including brake fluids, engine oils, fuel additives, and other automotive chemical products—covering performance testing, durability evaluation, and material improvement initiatives.
